The BP oil spill has been topping the news for months and everyone’s waiting to see just how long this thing will take. They say you should learn from your mistakes and, if BP follows this advice, they have quite a bit from which to learn. Mistakes have been made of horrendous proportion that have had negative effects on millions upon millions of people.

The BP Oil Spill and Its Effect on the Environment
In April 2010 one of the world’s biggest disasters struck in the gulf of Mexico, when one of the biggest oil spills in the history of the world took place. Just under a kilometre under the sea, one of the biggest oil rigs exploded, which opened up an oil gusher which poured oil out into the sea at an alarming rate. Recently there have been measures put in place to stop the oil from gushing further out into the sea, but as oil has been gushing out into the sea for many months now, the amount of oil lost is unprecedented.

Oil Spill Capped – Can the Gulf Region Finally Breathe a Sigh of Relief?
While they say it is too early to celebrate, I do think some celebrations are in order. For the first time in over three months, there is actually some hope that someone, somewhere knows what they are doing.
